If I when she is all alone
surrounded by crowds of laughing, smiling people
but known by none
If I in the little things
can see so much;
peel her away, layer by layer
leaving her not bare but
whole
If there is such truth
singing softly to myself:
“I am yours and
you are mine
and together we are an eternity” –
If I love you
when your gaze holds mine
with your night black eyes
so soft and warm –
I do not see the shining sun or the glistening moon;
I see only you.
If together there is more
than most will know
who shall say you are
but a horse?
surrounded by crowds of laughing, smiling people
but known by none
If I in the little things
can see so much;
peel her away, layer by layer
leaving her not bare but
whole
If there is such truth
singing softly to myself:
“I am yours and
you are mine
and together we are an eternity” –
If I love you
when your gaze holds mine
with your night black eyes
so soft and warm –
I do not see the shining sun or the glistening moon;
I see only you.
If together there is more
than most will know
who shall say you are
but a horse?
